Opinion and Analysis in Bass Guitar

I’m Kyle Nagel and This is How I Play

kyle nagel bass guitar young pandas head shotKyle Nagel is a bass player’s bass player. The bass player held down the bass chair for the neo-soul band
Young Pandas, for forthcoming band Foggy Goggles and serves as the musical director of Mannequin the Band. It’s a lot of bass playing, but Nagel is the man for the job.

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Nagel graduated from Mcnally/Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota where he studied electric and double bass performance. After graduating music school, Nagel moved to Austin, Texas where he continued to perform and eventually met Mike Maven, co-founder, singer and guitar player for Young Pandas, a band the two set up upon moving to Providence, Rhode Island.

Though involved in many projects, Young Pandas is the first place to start to acquaint yourself with Nagel’s playing. A mix of smooth, bouncy and supportive, Kyle’s playing is certainly what keeps Young Pandas grounded and grooving.
